The greenbelt in Lickey End is under threat.
Mac Mic Strategic Land Limited have submitted a planning application to Bromsgrove District Council for up to 85 homes to be built on green belt land at Alcester Road.
I am opposed to this planning application.
The proposals for Alcester Road have been brought forward under the Government’s nonsensical ‘grey belt’ definition which has emboldened developers to build on greenbelt land.
This is also happening because the Government has increased Bromsgrove and the Village's housebuilding target by 85%, but decreased Birmingham's target by 31%. This Government is, without doubt, placing the burden on rural Britain.
There is no need to build on our precious greenbelt land when there is enough brownfield land available in England to build 1.41 million homes on. The Government could also bring long-term empty homes back into use and abolish Stamp Duty to free up the housing market.
As part of my work to oppose this application, I want to gather your views. Please complete the survey below and have your say on this planning application.
