Bradley brought the Chief Constable and Police and Crime Commissioner of West Mercia Police to Wythall following the results of his crime and anti-social behaviour survey.

Earlier this year, the local MP asked residents for their views. The main crime or disorder issues that residents highlighted in Bradley’s survey included burglary, car theft, fly tipping speeding and drug dealing.

Following the results of his survey, Bradley promised to bring Chief Constable Richard Cooper and Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion to Wythall to highlight the crime and anti-social hotspots identified in the survey results.

He did just that last Monday (August 18th) when they joined the local MP on a visit to Drakes Cross Parade shops where they spoke directly to residents and local shop owners about their concerns.

Speaking with the Chief Constable and the Police and Crime Commissioner, Bradley also discussed what more can be done to make Wythall safer for local residents.

Bradley said:

“I’m grateful to the Chief Constable and our Police and Crime Commissioner for joining me in Wythall to speak to residents and shop owners about their concerns with crime and anti-social behaviour.

“Police visibility is key, and I urged our Chief Constable to step up patrols in order to deter criminality and to ensure residents feel safe.

“Increased police patrols and reducing crime is a key part of My Plan for Bromsgrove and the Villages, and I’m keeping my promise to work with the police to ensure our constituency remains a safe place to live and work.”

Derek Forsythe, Councillor for Hollywood, added:

“I was delighted to join our MP – Bradley Thomas - who had arranged for the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable to visit Wythall and Hollywood last week. This was a follow-up visit in response to a survey recently commissioned by Bradley.

“Shop lifting and store break-ins are an ongoing concern for store managers and the public. It was ironic that on the day of the visit we had three shop break-ins which further emphasised the value of this visit.

“We greatly appreciated the concern shown by our MP and the opportunity to meet with the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable who, in addition to the issues we have with shop lifting and store break-ins, listened to a wide range of issues including anti-social behaviour, vehicle theft and private residents’ break-ins.”

Increased Police Patrols and Reducing Crime

I regularly raise local policing issues in Parliament and with our local police force. I’m campaigning for additional police patrols, a crackdown on both anti-social behaviour and illegal retail activity, plus a new focus on rural crime prevention.
