Bradley has slammed the new administration on Worcestershire County Council for voting to cut millions of pounds in rail investment and highways funding.

In one of their first acts as a new administration, Cabinet members last Thursday (September 25th) voted to slash investment in accessibility improvements at railway stations by £1 million. This will impact both Bromsgrove and Alvechurch rail stations.

The Cabinet also voted to cut funding for highways and footpaths by £2.5 million.

Bradley has since urged the new administration to reinstate the funding that the new County Council administration has cut.

Bradley said:

“I don’t believe for a second that this is what residents voted for back in May.

“We need investment in our roads, footpaths and rail infrastructure – not cuts.

“I urge the administration at Worcestershire County Council to continue investing in rail infrastructure, including the accessibility improvements that were planned for Bromsgrove and Alvechurch rail stations, and to continue investing in roads and footpaths.”
