Bradley has urged Network Power Connections and Worcestershire County Council to "be much more sympathetic to the impact on local road users and find a way to do this whilst minimising disruption" following the two week closure of Sherwood in Bromsgrove.

Sherwood Road is currently under a full road closure in both directions from Monday July, 6th until Sunday July, 19th 2026 whilst Network Power Connections safely excavate the carriageway and lay new underground utility ducting.

Bradley said:

“Roadworks are continuing to blight the lives of residents and businesses.

“As I’ve said before, Worcestershire County Council must halt all non-essential roadworks in Bromsgrove whilst work on the A38 BREP Scheme continues.

“Residents and businesses have been through enough, and the full road closure of Sherwood Road for two weeks is just too much and compounds an already overloaded local road network.

“I understand Network Power Connections need to complete this work, but both Network Power Connections and Worcestershire County Council need to be much more sympathetic to the impact on local road users and find a way to do this whilst minimising disruption.

“I have already contacted the County Council to find out why the road couldn’t remain partially open whilst this work is carried out.”
