Taylor Wimpey’s want to build 100 homes on greenbelt land west of Alcester Road in Wythall.
Along with your County Councillor Adam Kent, we recently attended the developer’s drop-in public consultation event at Wythall Village Hall where we took the developer to task over their plans to build on our greenbelt.
Building on the greenbelt isn't the only problem, this speculative development will do nothing to contribute to the desperately needed secondary school that our constituency needs.
Councillor Kent and I couldn’t have been clearer with Taylor Wimpey. This madness of houses first, infrastructure last (or in most cases no infrastructure improvement at all) has got to stop!
This speculative approach to housebuilding further undermines any confidence residents have left in the planning system.
I’m afraid that as a result of the Government increasing our housing target by 85%, the developers have all the cards. This developer is clearly chancing their hand because they feel empowered by the Government.
Taylor Wimpey are preparing to submit their outline planning application to Bromsgrove District Council. Before they do, please do complete my survey and share your views with me on this speculative housing application.
